Two teams must win on Saturday, November 17, in order for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team to clinch a berth in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs.

Coastal Carolina must beat the Charleston Southern Buccaneers at home on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., and Liberty must beat VMI at 1:30 p.m. to force a three-way tie for the Big South Conference championship. CCU would win the tie-breaker and earn a first round spot in the 20-team FCS Playoff field.

Coastal Carolina is 6-3 in lifetime head-to-head meetings against Charleston Southern, including a 45-21 victory by CCU one year ago. The Chants (6-4) enter the weekend on a four-game win streak. The Buccaneers have a record of 5-5 this season.

At his weekly news conference, Coastal head coach Joe Moglia said, "We are supposed to win this game, but they are a good enough team, (if) we don't take care of business, couple of turnovers, anything along those lines, they could upset us."

In the event Coastal Carolina makes the playoffs, Coach Moglia has promised to give his assistant coaches an equal share of the $40,000 in bonus money he would receive for grabbing a share of the Big South Conference title.

Moglia, a multimillionaire, who is a former Fortune 500 CEO, would also receive $40,000 for each round the Chanticleers advance in the playoffs. He said that money would also go to his assistants,  "I will give every nickel to our staff, because I'm rich."

Coastal Carolina Athletics Director Hunter Yurachek has already put in a bid of $73,000 to host a first round playoff game. But the Chanticleers must finish the job this weekend, in order for CCU to reach the playoffs for the third time in school history.
