Tigers ten hits not enough to defeat Wolfpack

RALEIGH, N.C. (WACH)- Jake Fincher went 4-for-4 and scored three runs as No. 8 N.C. State avoided the sweep defeating Clemson 4-1 Sunday at Doak Field in Raleigh. Clemson is now 9-5 overall, and 2-1 in the ACC.

Scott Firth (2-2) was tagged with the loss, but pitched 6.2 innings allowing eight hits and only two runs with three strikeouts.

The Tigers recorded ten hits in the contest, but could only push across one run.  Clemson will return home Wednesday to host Charleston Southern at 4:00 p.m.
