Myrtle Beach is starting a $2 million sewer line installation project Monday to replace a 30-year-old pipe.

The new line will run along Highway 17 from 79th Avenue North to the southern edge of restaurant row where Highway 17 and Highway 17 Bypass split.

Lanes are expected to be closed on Kings Highway between 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

Crews will be installing a 36 inch sewer line in the middle of the highway to replace the old one.

This part of the project should be done in the spring, with two more phases to follow.
