Former Coastal Carolina tight end Jamie Childers is getting another shot in the NFL.  Childers agents, Justin and Joel Turner, tell WPDE Sports that his client has signed a two year free agent contract with the New York Giants.  Childers was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Saint Louis Rams and was cut after the first preseason game.  Childers returned to the Charleston area and was waiting for another opportunity.  He had a workout with the Seattle Seahawks on December 22nd and then flew to New York for a Thursday workout.  The Giants signed him to the free agent deal following that session.  Childers will report to Giants off-season workouts in April and report to training camp looking to stick on the 53 man roster.   He came to Coastal Carolina as a quarterback out of Wando High School and added tight end duties in his junior and senior campaigns.  Childers had 11 catches for 233 yards and 3 TD's in his senior season, but missed four games due to injury and also played quarterback in 2011.
