MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) - An officer with J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County faces criminal charges.

Late Tuesday night, Myrtle Beach police arrested Steven Alan Prouty, 39, at Highway 31 and Highway 544.

He's charged with Driving Under the Influence. The police report does not include details surrounding the circumstances of the arrest.

WPDE NewsChannel 15 spoke with Detention Center Deputy Director Joey Johnson who would not give details about Prouty's employment status with the detention center.
