The Myrtle Beach Pelicans officially introduced Andy Milovich as their new Vice President and General Manager on Thursday afternoon in the home clubhouse at TicketReturn.com Field.

Milovich took the job as GM of the Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers on December 22. He replaces Scott Brown, who left the Pelicans last month to accept the GM position with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights of the International League.

Milovich has 23 years of executive experience in the minor leagues. He comes to Myrtle Beach with a resume that includes being named the 1997 Sporting News Minor League Executive of the Year.

Pelicans Chairman and Managing Partner Chuck Greenberg presented Milovich with a Pelicans team jersey to welcome him to his new position with Greenberg Sports Group.

The 43-year old native of South Bend, Indiana attended college at both Valparaiso and Georgia. He still serves as Executive Vice President of Palisades Baseball, which owns and operates the West Virginia Power, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, in Charleston, West Virginia.

The Pelicans will begin the 2013 Carolina League baseball season on Thursday, April 4 at home against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at 7:05 p.m.
