An inmate stabbed to death at a state prison in Bennettsville Sunday night had been convicted in a high-profile murder case in Horry County.

The Marlboro County Coroner says Jamie Dean White, 26, seen in the image above in court in 2008, was stabbed to death at the Evans Correctional Institution in Bennettsville.

White's death has been ruled a homicide.

White was serving an 11-year sentence for Armed Robbery out of Horry County, and he was one of the so called "Aynor 6."

In 2008, 54-year-old Ronald Rabon was lured out of a bar, taken to a dark road, robbed and shot dead.

White and five others were accused of Rabon's death.

The judge denied their bond for their safety, saying some of the suspects implicated others, and threats had been made against them.

Four of the suspects, including White, eventually pleaded guilty to Armed Robbery and were sentenced to 11 years.

The murder charges against them were dropped.

A fifth suspect, Charles Skipper, pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 40 years. The sixth person charged, Crystal Turner, the person accused of being the mastermind behind the plot, was found guilty of Accessory Before the Fact of Armed Robbery and got 16 years.

White was sent to prison in October 2010.

White had been moved to Evans Corrections this past September, although the file did not say why, according to Clark Newsom, spokesperson for the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

The State Law Enforcement Division is now investigating and has not released any specific details on White's death.
