Former Myrtle Beach resident and Coastal Carolina All-American Dustin Johnson used his long driver and great touch around the greens over two days to win the PGA Tour's season opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions by four shots over Steve Stricker.  Rain and high wins forced the tournament to be postponed for three days.  Johnson played 36 holes on Monday highlighted by a -7 under 66 in round two to take the lead heading into the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

On the 12th hole, Johnson blasted a 410 yard drive on the par four to set himself up for an easy birdie putt.  Following a double bogey on 13, Dustin drove just off the green on the par 4 14th and chipped in for an eagle.  He closed out his tournament with a birdie putt on 18 to get to -16, four shots better than defending champ Stricker.

It's Johnson's 7th career PGA Tour win and the third time he has won a tournament that was 54 holes.  As he starts his 6th season on the PGA Tour, he is the second golfer to win at least one event in his first six years on tour - the other is Tiger Woods.  Bishopville native Tommy Gainey, who won his first PGA Tour event last fall, finished in a tie for 6th at -8 in his first time playing at Kapalua.
