LaShay Page has been ruled academically ineligible for the remainder of the 2012-13 college basketball season. The South Carolina Gamecocks post-graduate guard was the team's second leading scorer in points per game this season.

The former Latta and Dillon High star averaged 11.7 points a contest in nine games this season after transferring from Southern Mississippi. He was the Gamecocks top free throw shooter, hitting more than 87 percent from the charity stripe.

South Carolina head coach Frank Martin described the situation as an "academic glitch," and said he would not be able to discuss the situation until Saturday.
