The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team defeated the Greensboro College Pride 85-65 in the first meeting ever between the two schools, on Sunday night, at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina.

Greensboro College, a Division III school, hit eleven 3-point field goals in the game. The Pride took their final lead of the contest with 4:23 left in the first half when Luqman Tijani hit a 3-pointer to give Greensboro a 29-28 lead. Tijani finished the game with 22 points.

Coastal finished the first half strong. A pair of buckets by Michel Enanga and a 3-pointer by Warren Gillis helped the Chanticleers take a 38-33 lead at the half.

CCU outscored Greensboro 47-32 over the final 20 minutes. Kierre Greenwood led the Chants with 21 points and eight assists. Anthony Raffa bounced back off a scoreless performance against the College of Charleston and tallied 20 against Greensboro.

The victory over Greensboro improved Coastal's record to 5-6. It was CCU's final game of the 2012 portion of their schedule. The Chants will return to action in 2013 on January 5 at 2 p.m. with a game at Longwood University to open the Big South Conference season.
