An Horry Georgetown Technical College student has been arrested, placed on administrative suspension pending disciplinary review, and has been issued a no trespassing order by the college's public safety department after threatening a fellow student several times over the past few weeks.

On Tuesday, Coastal Carolina University police arrested Lanceford Brian Bayes, 36, for having several guns on campus, harassing a woman who he had been involved in a relationship with and possessing a prescription drug illegally.

The arrest was made after witnesses said Bayes was tapping a bullet on a desk during a class he and the victim shared, said a school spokesperson.

A classmate also issued a statement concerning "violent behavior" after the suspect and victim broke up.

The victim told police on November 20th, while she and Bayes were on campus, she refused to get into Bayes' truck. She said he removed a handgun from his center console and advised her to get in. She got in the truck and was let go sometime later, she told police.

On Thursday, CCU police advised Bayes of the complaints. Bayes then told police he had three guns in his truck, which was parked on campus.

Bayes gave police consent to search his truck. Police found a Charles Daly shotgun, a Braztech rifle and a Smith and Wesson handgun. Police also found a magazine loaded with 9mm rounds, a Winchester 243 bullet and another loaded magazine.

Bayes also told police he had some Vicodin in his car door. Police found a white pill labeled M957, six pills labeled Watson 358 and several pen tubes with white residue inside.

Bayes told police he and the victim were involved in a relationship but had ended it. He said the victim kept showing up at his home, harassing he and his fiance, and continued to text and leave him voicemails, according to the incident report.

The victim told police she was threatened by Bayes several times and was held down by him and not allowed to leave.

She said she ended the relationship when she found out he was engaged. She said he broke his passenger side window with his fist.

Bayes was released on bond Thursday.
