The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and VMI Keydets will meet for the tenth time on Saturday, October 20 in Lexington, Virginia. Coastal Carolina is 7-2 lifetime against the Keydets.

The Chants are riding a school record four game losing streak after dropping their Big South Conference opener to Stony Brook last weekend. CCU has a 2-4 record after playing the tenth toughest FCS schedule in the nation over their first six games. They will finish the season on a five game stretch against Big South teams that all have losing records.

The CCU players are feeling the pressure after going winless since beating Furman on September 8. 330 pound junior offensive guard Jamey Cheatwood says he realizes the importance of winning all remaining games on the CCU schedule, "We still have hope to make the playoffs, providing Stony Brook can slip up, but we can only control what we can control, but we gotta run the table."

Coastal is averaging 26 points a game behind quarterback Aramis Hillary, who is ranked 16th in the nation in total offense, averaging 281 yards a contest. But the CCU has given up 35.5 points a game and are ranked 109th in the country in that department.

VMI's only two wins have been against the Division II Chowan Hawks and Presbyterian (2-5). Prior to this season, the Keydets had a dismal 13-37 record over the last five years under former South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Sparky Woods. VMI is 2-4 this season, and 1-1 in the Big South.

VMI's offensive output is among the worst in the FCS. The Keydets are averaging just 12.33 points a game.

Coastal Carolina beat VMI last season, 34-10 in Conway, South Carolina. Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 1:30 p.m.
