Jalen Simmons ran for 139 yards and two scores and the Waccamaw defense pitched its second straight shutout in a 22-0 win over Creek Bridge on Monday night in Pawleys Island. The game was rescheduled from Friday night in Centenary due to an unplayable field. Waccamaw played the field position game in the first quarter and got great field position to set up its first score. After a Marquise Thompson punt was downed at the 21 yard line, Simmons bounced to the left side and scored the first points of the game. Jeffron Smalls added a two point conversion to make it an 8-0 game.

Creek Bridge threatened in the second quarter as RaShawn Rogers connected with Racheed Gasque on a 20 yard pass play to midfield and then scrambled to the Waccamaw 20 yard line, but the drive stalled at the 8 yard line. Waccamaw took an 8-0 lead to the locker room. In the 3rd quarter, quarterback Jack Monroe lobbed a short pass to tight end Rob Ferraro who got in the open field and broke it into a 60 yard pass play all the way down to the five yard line. Simmons would score his second TD of the night on the next play. Smalls closed out the scoring with a 48 yard TD run midway through the third quarter.

Simmons finished with 17 carries for 139 yards and the two touchdowns. Waccamaw is now 2-1 on the season and has this week open, while Creek Bridge drops to 0-2 and travels to Lincoln this Friday night.
