Summer passing leagues are happening all across the area as teams are gearing up for the official start of high school football on July 27th.  Newschannel 15's Mark Haggard found two big headlines at Myrtle Beach High's 7 on 7 last week:

Seahawks to use one QB in 2012

In 2011, Myrtle Beach head coach Mickey Wilson went with a two quarterback system to replace two time Zoneman winner Everett Golson.  Tyler Keane and CJ Cooper rotated out every other play for almost the entire 2011 season and both QB's put up impressive numbers:

As you can see, CJ Cooper and Tyler Keane had similar numbers, ranking 4th and 5th in the Zone nation in passing yards.  Combined together, they threw for 3,199 yards and 43 TD passes.  In 2012, Keane will be the starting quarterback with Cooper making the move to wide receiver.  With Tramond and Jaquan Wilson gone to graduation, Cooper will shift to wide receiver.  Keane will be taking all of the snaps, with CJ available for backup duties under center.

Carvers Bay boasts D1 Prospect

The Zone Nation's class of 2013 is boasting eight Division I prospects and 2014 is shaping up to be a big year for some of college football's biggest programs to come to our backyard and recruit area players.  In addition to Latta OL Donnell Stanley, Carvers Bay defensive tackle Naquel Pringle is getting Division I looks as a rising junior.  Pringle already has picked up offers form South Carolina and Clemson with more to come.
