Conway High shortstop Jordan Gore has made a verbal commitment to play for the two-time defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team. But USC head coach Ray Tanner will have to wait two years. Gore is a rising junior at Conway. He's a dual position player in high school handling both middle infield and pitching duties. Gore is slated to become a freshman at South Carolina in 2013.

Gore hit .415 his sophomore season for head coach Anthony Carroll's Conway Tigers while batting second in the line-up. Gore is also an excellent defensive player and is solid in the classroom. Conway currently has pitcher Colby Holmes as a member of the Gamecocks. It is not likely the two will play together in college since both have two years of eligibility remaining at their current levels.
