Cliff Ellis turned to one of his NBA alumni to join his staff at Coastal Carolina.  7 foot center Mamadou N'diaye is now a part of the CCU basketball staff.  N'diaye takes the spot of Richie Riley, who left CCU to join his alma mater at Eastern Kentucky.  N'diaye played for Ellis from 1996-2000 at Auburn becoming a first round draft pick of the Denver Nuggets.  N'diaye played in a total of 69 NBA games for four different teams.  He then went on to a career overseas in Europe before retiring and entering the coaching profession.
