The Eastside Golden Eagles defeated the Myrtle Beach Seahawks 2-1 to win the boys Class 3A State Soccer Championship on Saturday in Columbia. Myrtle Beach struck first on a Mason Lewis goal. But Eastside rallied for two unanswered tallies including the game-winning header by Jack Lyness to upset Myrtle Beach.

The Seahawks entered the contest ranked 24th in the nation. They end their season with a runner-up finish in class 3A and a record of 22-2. It was the third time in the past decade that Myrtle Beach had reached the finals only to fall short. The Seahawks have never won a boys state soccer title.
