Coastal Carolina hit the field Sunday afternoon for the first of fifteen spring football workouts. Nearly 100 players practiced for about two hours. CCU will conduct fourteen more practices over the next five weeks culminating with the annual Black & Teal spring game Saturday April 10th with a noon kickoff at Brooks Stadium in Conway.
CCU head football coach David Bennett told WPDE NewsChannel 15 that the first day of spring practice is a welcome day, "We're setting a whole new attitude from last year's team that did not accomplish everything they wanted to accomplish." The Chanticleers finished with a record of 5-6 in 2009 including losses to FBS schools Clemson and Kent State.
