In 2004, Amber Campbell closed out a stellar collegiate career at Coastal Carolina and set her sights on making the US Olympic team in 2004 in the hammer throw.  Her bronze medal effort fell a mere six inches short of qualifying for a shot at the Olympics.  Campbell has spent the last four years working towards achieving her dream of making the Olympics.  Campbell currently owns two national indoor titles and the longest throw in the hammer by a US woman.  She will head to Eugene, Oregon next week to compete in the US Olympic trials.  Her current long throw of over 70 meters will easily qualify her for this Summer's Olympics in Beijing, China.

Qualifying for the hammer throw is Thursday, July 3rd  at 10pm EST with the finals set for Saturday, July 5th at 4:10 pm EST.
