2006 ZONEMAN BALLOTING Malcolm Elder captures 2006 WPDE Zoneman Carvers Bay running back Malcolm Elder has won WPDE's top football award presented on Thursday, December 7th, 2006 at the Lakewood Resort Conference Center. Elder, who finished 3rd in the 2005 Zoneman race, became the first class 1A football player to win the award. Elder had back to back 2,000 yard seasons and guided the Bears to the 1A Division I state championship this season. South Carolina bound Cliff Matthews finished second edging future Michigan Wolverine Junior Hemingway. Lake City's Scotty Cooper, a Clemson commitment, finished in 4th. 40 Ballots - 3 points for first place, 2 points for second place, 1 point for third place
