The North Carolina High School Football State Playoffs got underway one day late for two teams. It was worth the wait for Scotland County. The Scots defeated Harnett Central 55-13 in Laurinburg on Saturday night.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers beat the Presbyterian Blue Hose 15-8 on a Jamie Childers TD pass to DeMario Bennett in the fourth quarter. The win lifts CCU's overall record to 5-4, 2-3 in the Big South Conference.
