Bill Haas beat Hunter Mahan on the third hole of a sudden death playoff at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, to win the PGA Tour Championship and the Fed-Ex Cup title. Haas, who was raised in Greer, South Carolina, won $1.44 millon for winning the tournament and a $10 million dollar bonus for capturing the PGA's four-tournament playoff series.

Former Clemson all-american Lucas Glover is tied for the lead at the halfway mark of the 2011 British Open. Glover shot an even par 70 second round. He's at 4-under par along with Darren Clarke atop the leaderboard at Royal St. George's in Sandwich, England.

South Carolina Gamecocks rising sophomore Logan Harrell returns to defend the 2010 title he won at Pinehurst (NC) Resort's No. 8 course. This year's 4-day event will be at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach July 14-17.
