SANDWICH, England - Darren Clarke has won his first major title at the British Open played at Royal St. George's. The 42-year-old from Northern Ireland shot an even-par 70 Sunday that gave him a three-stroke victory over Dustin Johnson, a Myrtle Beach resident and former Coastal Carolina all-american, and Phil Mickelson.

Johnson is in search of his first major championship. Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke at 5-under par for the tournament will be in the final group with Johnson on Sunday.
