Latest local news, weather and high school sports for Myrtle Beach and Florence

Criteria and Point System for WPDE Zone Cup
 The WPDE Zone Cup will be awarded to the high school with best overall athletic performance during school year. 34 High Schools in WPDE viewing area, plus SCISA schools in WPDE viewing area are eligible. Schools will be awarded points for their team's post-season performance in SCHSL approved state championships. The ZONE Cup will be awarded to the winning school each May.
Points will be distributed as follows:

State Championship (1st): 100 points

State Finalist (2nd): 75 points

Semifinalist (3rd-4th): 50 points

Quarterfinalist (5th-8th): 25 points

Round of 16 (9th-16th): 10 points

Round of 32 (17th-32nd): 5 points

SCISA Schools Point Scale as Follows:

State Championship (1st): 75 points

State Finalist (2nd): 50 points

Semifinalist (3rd-4th): 25 points

Quarterfinalist (5th-8th): 10 points

SCISA Schools compete in 8 team playoffs versus 32 team brackets in SCHSL, justifying change in point scale

Swimming  Football  Basketball  Baseball  Golf  Tennis  Basketball  Track  Cross Country  Wrestling  Soccer  Softball  Volleyball  Basketball  Competitive Cheer
