Do you want a NewsChannel 15 Meteorologist to come and speak at your school or organization?
Over the past 19 years, I've thoroughly enjoyed visiting churches, civic groups and schools around the area talking all about the weather. Over that time, the technology we use has evolved from cardboard cutouts to power points. I strive to engage my audience by building presentations that are interesting, educational and visually appealing. Topics include hurricanes, tornadoes, general weather information and global warming. My presentations can be as short as 15 minutes or as long as an hour and I always leave time for questions.
Teachers: I understand weather standards have been implemented for each grade level. I've spoken to many of you over the years, and I know my visit to your classroom needs to reinforce what you've already taught the students - so they'll be better prepared for PASS testing. I build my presentations to specifically meet the standards spelled out for each grade. I make it a point to engage the children with great pictures and videos and make it fun so they'll remember it! In addition to reinforcing your standards, I teach them lightning, thunderstorm, tornado and hurricane safety. At the end of the presentation, I answer questions and then give the children a one sheet containing severe weather tips to take home. My visit takes just under one hour. At the end of the 6pm and 7pm newscasts that night, I highlight your school by showing the children on TV.
