Police charged a 16-year-old female with Attempted Murder after they say she stabbed a family member.

Saturday afternoon, police responded to a home on Powell Road just outside of Georgetown city limits.

The victim was sent to Georgetown Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Georgetown County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson.

The juvenile is being transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
