A Florence County man awoke to find a burglar in his home off of McAllister Mill Road in lower Florence County, Monday morning, according to Captain Brett Camp, with the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

The man was plundering through the homeowner's things in an attempt to steal them, Camp said.

The homeowner told deputies he confronted the man and fired a few shots at him, and the burglar took off and got into a car.

Late Monday, deputies with the Florence County Sheriff's Office arrested Rogie Derell Wise, 23, of Gable, SC and charged him with Burglary.

Deputies say Wise was later found a short distance from the residence where the burglary happened with a gunshot wound to the leg. Wise was treated at a local hospital and released to deputies.
