Officials with the Fourth Circuit Solicitor's Office say Joseph Caulder, III, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of James Hargrove, Wednesday afternoon.

He was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay $8,243 in restitution to Hargrove's family. Court officials say Caulder paid $5,000 to the family following the hearing.

Hargrove was found shot to death in a bean field off of Spears Church Road near the Clio community of Marlboro County in June of 2006.

Officials say Hargrove's family was OK with the Caulder's sentence. They say the both families hugged each other following the hearing.

A motive was never released in the killing.
