NewsChannel 15 has learned charges of resisting arrest have been dropped against Florence City Councilman Ed Robinson.
In April, Myrtle Beach police arrested Robinson after they say he yelled at a manager in a grocery store for not selling him alcohol.
The incident report says Robinson failed to show officers his ID and he refused to identify himself.
Myrtle Beach Clerk of Court Shelley Askey says charges were dismissed against Robinson by city prosecutors last week following a pre-trial hearing. Askey says she isn't sure why the charges were dropped.
In an interview following his arrest, Robinson told NewsChannel 15 the officer was way out of line and overbearing. He said he was only defending his wife and wasn't looking for any trouble.
