Some Horry County students got free school supplies thanks to a local bake shop and its effort on facebook.

Coccadots is known for its cupcakes but it put the word out on facebook that the store was collecting school supplies over the past week.

"People have been very, very generous. It's our way to give back to the community. Myrtle Beach has opened their doors and arms to us and we've been very, very fortunate and we want to make sure we give back," said Michelle McMillan of Coccadots.

Coccadots is still collecting and needs more backpacks, tissue boxes, pencil cases, erasers and composition books.
