Local, state and federal officials were at a home on Howle Street in Hartsville Thursday night, where officers say they found weapons, ammunition and materials associated with items used to make explosive devices.

A state bomb squad unit was at the scene as a precaution.

Darlington County Sheriff's Captain Andy Locklear says they went to the home searching for Les Crowley, Jr, 39. He is wanted for traffic and weapons charges in Florence County following an incident Wednesday.

Locklear says Crowley is driving a dark green 4-door 2010 Toyota Tacoma pickup with South Carolina tag AUB 491

Captain Locklear says deputies are actively searching for Crowley, and he's considered armed and very dangerous.

Neighbors say Crowley and his family moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and they don't know much about them.

They say this activity isn't typical of their usually quiet community.

"Kind of weird because it's not the kind of neighborhood that you would have this kind of thing happening, " said Whitney Sines.

Allyson Sines said, "It's actually kind of odd to have the coroner and bomb squad and this many cops in this neighborhood. We've never had problems around here before."

Deputies in Florence County are assisting.

If you see Crowley, you're asked to not approach him but to call police.

Police have not yet released a photo of Crowley. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
