Horry County police arrested Gayla Lynn Reneau, 58, for slitting her husband's throat with a filet knife.

Reneau called police saying her husband cut his own throat.

When they got to the home on Reef Road, they found a pool of blood in the kitchen and the husband gone.

Police talked to a neighbor who says the husband came over saying his wife was throwing knives at him and then picked up a filet knife and cut his throat.

Police found him with a towel around his neck, and both the towel and his shirt soaked in blood.

EMS took him to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

Police charged Reneau with Attempted Murder.

Reneau said they had been married for 29 years.
