COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The South Carolina House is returning to Columbia to take up Gov. Nikki Haley's budget vetoes.
Vetoes they will consider overriding include those that shut down two agencies and struck $10 million designated to districts to help pay for mandated teacher salary increases.
House Speaker Bobby Harrell had planned on returning in mid-September, but he decided to call legislators back sooner because of those three vetoes. The Senate returns Wednesday.
