The Florence County Sheriff's Office SWAT team got a tip Tuesday that Derrick Brown, wanted for Attempted Murder following a shooting on Pendo Court in April, was hiding in a home on Gilbert Drive.

Deputies say Brown shot a person in the chest while he was getting out of a car. They say he then stole the victim's car and took off.

Officers say a witness saw Brown go into the home on Gilbert Drive. SWAT deputies tried calling him over a loud speaker and getting a relative to get him to come out of the home.

Officers shot gas into the house as a last resort. When they went inside, Brown wasn't there.

Deputies will continue to search the Gilbert Drive community in effort to track down Brown. He's considered armed and dangerous.
