Horry County police arrested and charged Lloyd Michaels Thursday with five counts of Ill Treatment of Animals and a drug charge.

A drug search of Before 20 Head Shop in the Carolina Forest area of Horry County led to the discovery of several snakes.

Two of the snakes were dead and a few others were dehydrated and left in dirty tanks.

Police seized four ball pythons and took them to the Horry County Animal Care Center to be held as evidence.
