Horry County Police investigate deadly shooting

Horry County police responded to shots being fired on Ronald McNair Boulevard near the Highway 31 overpass on Friday around 8:30 p.m.
According to an incident report, the person who called 9-1-1 said a man was shot and several women took the man from the scene in a vehicle.
The officer who first arrived on scene found fresh blood, a cell phone, and a sneaker on the street in front of a house on Ronald McNair Boulevard.
A witness in a nearby house told police she heard a shot and her grandson came in the house crying that someone had been hurt. She said she later learned the person who was shot was her daughter's boyfriend.
She said she heard they were taking him to Conway Medical Center.
The officer called the hospital and found out a man had shown up with a gunshot wound and died at 9:15 p.m.
Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identified the man as Jose Gutierez, 20, of Myrtle Beach.
The incident report says police also interviewed other witnesses who didn't see the shooting but reported hearing three gun shots.
There is no suspect information at this time and the shooting remains under investigation
