Williams Cousins pled guilty this week to killing his mother in Scotland County in January of 2009, according to the Scotland County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say a judge sentenced Cousins to 31 to 40 years in prison for the murder.

Cousins was 17 at the time when deputies say he shot his mother to death and dumped her body in a wooded area off of Academy Road in Marlboro County.

Sarah Williams had been missing for two days when her relatives asked deputies to check her home in the Gibson community.

After checking the house, officers became very suspicious about her disappearance.

Deputies questioned Cousins and say he led them to his mother's body.
