(AP) -- A North Carolina man has died in a South Carolina prison.
SCNow.com reported that 30-year-old Billy Ray Roughton of Hamlet, N.C., died Tuesday morning at Evans Correctional Institution in Bennettsville.
State prison records show Roughton was serving a 20-year sentence for first-degree burglary from York County and had been in state custody since 2004.
Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown said there were no signs of trauma or anything to indicate foul play. The body has been sent to
Newberry for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
