SURFSIDE -- A Surfside Beach police officer has been cleared of any criminal wrong doing in a February shooting, but was still disciplined.

On February 28, Officer Bryan Byrd saw the vehicle of Christopher Clark, 32, of Myrtle Beach, weaving in the road.

Clark initially stopped, but sped away as the officer approached which led to a chase. Byrd eventually fired a shot into Clark's vehicle to stop it.

No one was hurt.

Clark is charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights and Resisting Arrest.

State police cleared Byrd of any wrong doing, but he still faced internal actions for violating Surfside Beach Police Department's policies.
