(AP) -- Another small earthquake has been reported near the South Carolina coast.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake happened about 8 a.m. Thursday near Summerville, in the area of the underground fault responsible for the 1886 quake that registered a magnitude of 7.3 and devastated Charleston.
Thursday's quake had a magnitude of only 2.3 and happened about 3 miles below the surface. The location was about 4 miles southeast of Summerville. The area receives about a half dozen small quakes a year.
There was no immediate report of any damage.
