NewsChannel 15 learned Wednesday someone broke into the apartment belonging to the woman accusing former state representative Thad Viers of harrassment.

According to the police report, when she came home from work Tuesday, she noticed her front door was broken.

She told police some items had been moved around and a cell phone, computer and a 9 millimeter handgun were stolen.

Viers resigned from office Wednesday over a pending indictment on the harrassment charge. You can find a link to that story here.

Viers told NewsChannel 15 he'd been in Columbia since Tuesday and hadn't heard about the break-in.
