Communications Director for the South Carolina Attorney General's Office, Mark Plowden, says the agency will not be prosecuting a Marion police officer, who was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in September 2010.

The 27-year-old woman claimed the officer responded to a car accident she was involved in, showed up at her home about an hour and a half later, and sexually assaulted her.

In November 2010, she told us she felt pressured by two Marion police lieutenants who initially investigated the incident to recant the allegation.

The officer was suspended from the Marion Police Department  without pay.

Officials with the police department say the officer's law enforcement certification has been cleared and they plan to reinstate him.

The State Law Enforcement Division investigated the allegations.
