A local airline suspended operations around the country Monday due to fueling issues, according to Myrtle Beach International Airport Spokeswoman Lauren Morris.

Direct Air, which is based in Myrtle Beach, reportedly left passengers on a flight to Myrtle Beach stranded in Niagara Falls.  According to television stations in New York, Illinois, and Florida flights there were cancelled as well. 

Morris said the airline is expected to make a statement at some point on Tuesday.

According to the airline's published timetable of flights, they do not have flights on Tuesdays. According to the Flight Tracker  on their website, of their Wednesday flights, several are "On Time," but others that are scheduled show up as "No Flight Found."
