Horry County police are investigating about 20 car break-ins that happened last weekend in the Socastee area.
The neighborhoods targeted include Ivy Stone, Stone Bridge, Brandy Mill and Cimmeron Plantation.
Police say thieves stole things like electronics, loose change, and jewelry.
If you have any information about the break-ins, call Horry County Police Department at 915-TIPS.
You can remain anonymous.
Horry County police suggest removing items of value from your car when it's unattended.
"Taking 30 seconds when you get home to grab your GPS unit, MP3 players or other electronic items within your car and bringing them into your home can help assure that they will be there the next day when you need them. Think of your vehicle as a small version of a Carolina Room. It is surrounded by windows and all items left in the car are in plain view. If a would-be thief doesn't see anything of value when looking in the car window, the chance of forced entry into your vehicle goes down," said Sgt. Robert Kegler, Horry County police.
