CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) - The Horry County coroner's office says Michael Prestia, 39, of Conway died early Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash. The wreck happened around 4 a.m. on Brown's Way Shortcut.

Senior trooper Brent Kelly said, for unknown reasons Prestia "laid the motorcycle down on its right side, it flipped back over on its left side and it threw the driver from the motorcycle."

Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said an autopsy showed Prestia died from head trauma sustained in the crash.

Prestia was not wearing a helmet, but he did have a helmet in his saddle bag, said Fowler.
