FLORENCE -- The Myrtle Beach Bike Week West Motorcycle Expo is being held in Florence this Friday and Saturday at the Florence Civic Center.

Friday, March 2nd is Family Day and children under 16 get in free with parents.

It starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. Friday.

The expo starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 3rd. Admission is $15 for one day and $20 for both days. Promoters say there is a $5 dollar off admission coupon available at the Civic Center.

After the expo Saturday night, a live concert will be held at the Civic Center celebrating the expo. It will feature Nantucket LIVE, the Ultimate Hank Williams, Junior Tribute Band, and Geneva. Separate admission applies for the concert.

Friday morning, NewsChannel 15 caught up with vendors as they set up for the event. You can find all sorts of items for your motorcycle and several vendors are selling shoes and clothing.

Promoters say it's the largest family-friendly motorcycle event in the Florence area with nearly 5,000 people expected to attend.

"We have I-20 coming in here. We have 95 coming in here. Just the location and the location of the civic center here. This is the idea location to have an event. We got plenty of lodging, plenty of restaurants around the area," said promoter Sonny Copeland.

He says the first weekend in March was the perfect time to hold the expo.

"We're doing this a week before Daytona. When Daytona moved a week back, this opened up the opportunity with the vendors, not only the vendors, with people traveling and all this was a window of opportunity to put this event here."

Copeland says they're looking to host another motorcycle expo in Florence this fall.
