LAMAR, S.C. (WPDE) - The victim of a home invasion in Lamar has died. Last month, Derrick Amerson, 70, was shot and his wife was beaten in their home. 

Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee says Amerson died Friday night from his injuries at a Columbia hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Hardee says Amerson's death is now considered a murder. No arrests have been made.
