Monday night, the Marion County Branch of the NAACP will hold a public meeting at Mullins Town Hall.

Officials with the NAACP say in recent months, they've had a number of residents complain about how council members are running the city.

They say they have questions about Mayor Pam Lee's overdue water bill that was finally paid in September, according to city officials.

The NAACP members say they want to know why the mayor was allowed to rack up overdue taxes, fees and interest in excess of $16,000 between her house, her mother's home, and a family business.

At one point, Mullins city council members had voted to shut off the mayor's water until the bills were paid.

NAACP members plan to also ask questions about customer service at the town's water department. They say a number of residents have complained they're not being treated with kindness and respect when they go to pay their water bills.

NAACP members say the mayor, several city council members and the city administrator have indicated they will take part in Monday night's meeting, which starts at 7 p.m.

We will let you know what happens.
