FLORENCE COUNTY -- US Marshals say they arrested Tabias Lorland McFadden, AKA "Weenie," hiding in a closet in Grovetown, GA.
McFadden was wanted by the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
They say he had eluded them since August 20, 2011 when he and two other men shot into a car on Rae Street and a home on Eugene Street.
The warrants for his arrest include charges of Attempted Murder, Firing a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling, Discharging firearm into a vehicle, and Armed Robbery. Lake City Police issued warrants for Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, First Degree Burglary, Second Degree Assault & Battery, and Possession of Weapon During a Violent Crime.
Florence County investigators and Lake City detectives contacted US Marshals fugitive task force, Operation Intercept, on January 30th when they developed information that he was no longer in the area.
At the same time, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office obtained warrants for McFadden for two counts of Murder and one count of Armed Robbery stemming from an incident on December 26th. Sumter County deputies believe McFadden was involved in the armed robbery and shooting deaths of two people at the Money Service Convenience Store
On Wednesday, Operation Intercept received an anonymous tip that McFadden may have fled to Perry Mill Circle in Grovetown, GA.
The US Marshals' South East Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) set up surveillance at that location and found McFadden hiding in a bedroom closet.
