Dillon City Administrator Glen Wagner, tells NewsChannel 15 a main sewer line is blocked at East Elementary School, which is a part of Dillon School District 4.
He says they found the problem late Wednesday afternoon when it caused the sewage to backup.
Wagner says crews started working to repair the problem first thing Thursday morning.
A truck is continuously pumping sewage out of the line so that students and staff can use the restrooms until the problem is fixed.
Wagner says the sewage will be trucked to their wastewater treatment plant.
He says crews have to dig about 12 to 15 feet in the ground to get to the main line.
Wagner isn't sure of the extent of the problem, so he can't estimate how long it will take to be fixed.
